Every year, DAHPERD is proud to honor exemplary teachers from all across the state by selecting one Teacher of the Year in the following categories:

1. Elementary Physical Education
2. Middle School Physical Education
3. High School Physical Education
4. Adapted Physical Education
5. Health Education
6. Dance Education

HIGH SCHOOL Scholarship Award for STUDENTS

Any student who is a senior and is enrolled in a Delaware high school (public or private) & is planning to attend a Delaware college/university is eligible for this scholarship. Each year two recipients will be selected to receive $250. Students must plan to enroll as a full time student in a teacher preparation program in Dance, Health, Physical Education or Recreation at a DE collegiate institution.

Undergraduate Scholarship Award

Any undergraduate student completing their sophomore, junior, or senior year at a Delaware College or University, who is enrolled as a FULL TIME student in a teacher preparation program in dance education, health education, physical education, recreation or athletics is considered eligible. Each year two recipients will be selected to receive $250.

Student Leaders

The annual DAHPERD Student Leadership Conference is designed to provide DAHPERD student members with leadership development experiences that will prepare participants for leadership opportunities in physical education, health promotion and education, recreation, fitness, dance and sports.

Each institution of higher learning in Delaware may select a maximum of eight students in physical education, health promotion and education, recreation, dance and sport disciplines to participate. To be eligible to participate, students must be members of DAHPERD.
